Educational Therapist/ Psychotherapist
Melvin Natanel Yeo has two decades of experience working with children and adolescents with special needs in institutional and private clinical settings both locally and overseas. Some of his clients include at-risk and incarcerated youths. He is deeply passionate about influencing and sustaining positive change for persons with disabilities and persons from disadvantaged backgrounds.
Melvin's years and breadth of experience working with young clients of varied ages and profiles show as he readily adapts his approach to cater to each unique young person who enters his care. He also teaches each one of them with his eyes kept on their future as he believes that grades alone are insufficient for his clients to be successful adults.
Besides working with young clients, Melvin develops programme curriculum for the Singapore University of Social Sciences, where he also delivers undergraduate programmes.
Melvin Natanel holds a Master in Inclusive and Special Education from Monash University as well as a Master of Counselling from the University of Queensland. During the course of his studies, he received commendations from the Dean for high achievement and also won an award for having achieved the highest proficiency in relationship counselling among his cohort. Between 2006 and 2009, Melvin also led a local non-profit organisation to promote awareness regarding the harms of bullying.
Being a father to two cheeky teenage boys, Melvin is able to easily empathise with the challenges that other parents face and adopts a highly practical approach when collaborating with them for the benefit of his young clients.
